The Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC), Georgia’s technology incubator, has named Corbett Gilliam corporate development manager.

In this role, Gilliam will oversee ATDC’s Industry Connect program. Industry Connect links Fortune 1000 firms with ATDC Signature portfolio companies whose technologies and products can solve their challenges. It also allows these global firms invest in or partner with ATDC startups on various initiatives.

“Corbett is a great addition to the team and his background in strategic consulting, sales, and international business development is the perfect complement to our long-term goal to make our Industry Connect program more robust and even more meaningful for our companies,” said Jane McCracken, ATDC’s assistant director of membership and programs. “He has a successful track record in technology and helping startups grow, so he has intimate knowledge and understanding of their needs as well as how to bridge their offerings to corporate challenges and the forging of partnerships.”

Gilliam’s expertise is in business operations and he has experience in the financial technology, mobile, live streaming, and Software-as-a-Service sectors. He also has successfully transformed companies’ core business models and marketing strategies to achieve revenue growth and profitability objectives.

“I love the innovation and creative thinking of startup culture. Startup founders tend to think outside the box, and do not allow barriers to restrict their thinking.” Gilliam said. “Fortune 1000 companies want to tap into the innovation of startup culture and large companies are aggressively looking for new technology solutions to include into their existing models.”

Gilliam is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He earned his master’s degree in business administration from Mercer University’s Stetson School of Business and Economics.
