Georgia Tech's Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) raised $7,485 for its 2017 ATDC Food Drive — more than 102 percent higher than the 2016 total.

The ATDC Food Drive also collected 1,038 pounds of canned goods and non-perishable foodstuffs.

Combined, the money and food collected is enough to make 30,805 meals — a jump of more than 108 percent from 2016's total.

The food drive is an annual tradition at ATDC in which the incubator's staff and its portfolio companies raise money and collect canned goods and other items for metro Atlanta's hungry and needy.

All proceeds were delivered Dec. 15 to the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB). The ACFB distributes more than 60 million pounds of donated grocery products a year to more than 600 of its nonprofit partner agencies that feed the hungry in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and North Georgia.

In all, ACFB helps feed more than 775,000 people a year.

ATDC's portfolio companies competed to earn points and raise the most money and food. The company with the most points will receive a pizza party.

The 2017 ATDC Food Drive winner is Florence Healthcare, which earned 4,260 points.

Coming in 2nd and 3rd place were Evident ID and Groundfloor with 4,006 and 2,223 points, respectively. Honorable Mention went to ATDC, which earned 1,693 points.

"I want to say 'thank you' to all the companies that participated this year to help those in need," said Jen Bonnett, ATDC's general manager. "We are a community of startups that truly care about the community and never lose sight of that."
