Veronica Berry, founder and CEO of TruDiary, a health technology startup focused on giving millennial women better manage their health, was one of the winners of the New Voice Pitch Competition in New York.

Berry, who received $10,000, competed against more than 320 others vying for $105,000 in awards in which the top prize was $25,000.

Atlanta-based TruDiary, founded in 2017, is a startup in the Advanced Technology Development Center’s ATDC Accelerate portfolio.

The contest is an offshoot of the New Voices Fund, a $100 million fund established to help women of color in startups, established businesses, and community-based initiatives maximize their potential.

In being selected as a winner, Berry’s company was highlighted for being an early-stage startup with a strong business model.

The company, which Berry launched after being misdiagnosed by a doctor, has an obstetrics-gynecology pilot project slated to launch in May and TruDiary already signed on its first health system customer and it has more than 250 women on its platform.

Working with ATDC has been a critical component to TruDiary’s success, Berry said.

“ATDC is a wealth of knowledge. The mentoring has been instrumental in the moves I’ve made,” Berry said. “Their mentorship, and the fact that they have the ATDC HealthTech vertical has helped to connect me with potential strategic partners.”
